70 Mega-Churches

I have read the same # twice in the past 2 days (OK, both from the same source, but really impacting me all the same). Pastor Josh is saying that there are some 350,000 people in the Des Moines metro area NOT regularly meeting in a church on Sunday mornings. So let's say that 5,000 people in a congregation makes it a 'mega-church'. (I have no idea what the 'official' definition is, but this seemed like a significant # to me.) So if 5,000 makes a mega-church, then our midwest community alone would need another 70 mega-churches just to meet the needs of our community. WOW!!! And this is yet another reason why we, as The Church, need to be partnering and encouraging one another. No one church can do it alone. What appeals to those of us attending Jordan Creek, may not appeal to those attending Lutheran Church of Hope, or Point of Grace, or Valley e-Free. But each church is working toward the common goal of reaching lost souls, and of encouraging dialog among those attending on Sunday morning and through-out the week. Talk about fulfilling the Great Commission!

Okay, is Valley e free really the name of a church? It sounds like a website:) So, instead of meeting at the movie theater are they meeting online in a chat room?!?!
Or are you just making these names up as you go along:):):) I really never know with you crazy WDMer's!
Love,
